MONA LISA Now it’s official: MONA LISA was 83% happy, 9% disgusted, 6% fearful and two percent angry. That’s the conclusion of a university of Amsterdam computer that applied “emotion-recognition software” to Leonardo da Vinci’s work. The algorithm, developed in conjunction with the University of Illinois, tries to access the human mood by examining key features such as the curvature of the lips and the crinkles around the eyes, then makes a score with to six basic emotions. Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa on a piece of pine wood in the year 1506. Never in the history of art has one painting been so admired. This is due largely to the enigmatic smile, which has caused much speculation. He recorded in his notebooks the records of model settings; but nowhere can be found any records of the Mona Lisa model setting. Why is that? Who posed for him? A researcher of BELL LABS suggested that Leonardo painted himself, and was able to support his theory by analyzing the facial features Leonardo’s face and that of the famous painting. She digitized both the self-portrait of the Mona Lisa. She flipped the self portrait and merged the two things together using a computer. She noticed the features of the famous aligned perfectly. MBA OR AN M.TECH This might not be a big question for most of the students in the world but for an Indian engineering graduate it might be. Here many students doing there UG says that they will rather go in for an MBA than M.TECH, most of the students do not even know that what an MBA is all about. Most of the students generally answer that they will get a large amount of money after doing an MBA. Is this the only reason to do an MBA? This general perception of getting large amount of money sometimes diverges a student in the R&D to the COMMERCIAL WORLD. That’s why there is large number of students in India try to get admission in MBA as compared to an M.TECH. NOTE: All this is not official, these are my own personal views from what I see around myself. THE TOP TEN MOTORCYCLE ROUTES Riding a bike is fun in itself.
